Ola Electric has once again announced a new delivery timeline for its S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters. The new delivery schedule is now expected to happen sometime from December 15 – December 30.
The new announcement comes in between a series of purchase windows and delivery delays. The delivery delay in Ola Electric’s recent announcement according to the company was caused by an ongoing global shortage of core electronic parts and chipsets used in the E-scooters.
It is interesting to note that the company is attributing rescheduling of the delivery date to mid-December, to the delay in shipping caused by the global shortage of core electronic parts and chipsets. It had postponed the delivery date of its S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters to customers on an earlier date as well.
At the time of launch, Ola Electric had announced that their delivery schedule would begin in October. The company, however, began test rides for their S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters only on 10 November.
The company, however, has announced that customers who pre-booked their S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters have been informed of the new delivery timeline via email.

Delay’s In Scheduling Purchase Windows
The first purchase window that was announced by the company for their S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters was 8 September. The purchase data had to be canceled due to technical issues faced by the company’s website. Post the first delay, Ola Electric advanced the first purchase date from 8 September to 15 September. Post this date, the company stopped taking new orders for their E-scooters within two days.
The second purchase window was announced for 1 November. This again was pushed to a new date for 16 December.
This new purchase window timeline falls in line with the latest announcement of deliveries scheduled for the first batch of the Ola Electric S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters between December 15 and December 30.
Citing the cause to be the global shortage of core electronic parts and chipsets used in the E-scooters, Ola Electric in their email reportedly told customers that the delay was regretfully unavoidable. However, with this new delivery announcement, the company is now ready to make deliveries of their S1 and S1 Pro E-scooters to customers.
Ola Electric has priced its E-scooters at Rs 99,999 for the S1 and Rs 1, 29,999 for the S1 Pro. These are ex-showroom rates and are inclusive of the union government’s FAME-II subsidy. They, however, do not include state offered subsidies.
