India’s esteemed Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, officially inaugurated the 19th EV Expo 2023 – India’s Premier Electric Vehicle Expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, via video-link. Successfully hosted at Hall No. 11, 12, and 12A of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the event has received a warm and enthusiastic response. Over three days, the EXPO will showcase innovations in eco-friendly electric vehicle technology, including 2, 3, and 4-wheeled e-vehicles, various parts, accessories, charging solutions, and cutting-edge technology from 218 national and international companies.
India’s Potential in the EV Market
The Indian government’s target of achieving annual sales of 1 crore Electric Vehicles (EVs) by 2030 has the potential to create around 5 -crore jobs, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Speaking at the EV EXPO, Gadkari highlighted India’s potential to lead the global EV market and emphasized the government’s commitment to making India self-reliant in clean energy production.
During his address at the 19th EV EXPO 2023, Gadkari stated, “According to the Vahan database, 34.54 lakh EVs have registered in India.” The Union Road Transport and Highways minister expressed confidence in India’s ability to become the top EV manufacturer worldwide. He further expressed the government’s commitment to making India self-reliant in clean energy production and widespread adoption.
One of the initiatives mentioned by Gadkari is retrofitting existing polluting vehicles into hybrid and fully operational EVs. The government has approved the regulations for this process and conducted successful technology demonstrations. The 19th EV EXPO 2023
This three-day event presents the latest and technologically advanced pollution-free 2, 3 & 4 wheeled e-vehicles, along with their parts, accessories, charging solutions, and technology.
