Chinese automaker BYD Auto will launch its all-electric car, BYD Seal, in India on March 5th. The BYD Seal will be the third car to join the BYD existing lineup in India, which includes the BYD Atto 3 SUV and BYD E6 MPV.
Design
The Seal EV has a clean exterior design with large LED headlights and distinctive C-shaped DRLs at the front. It has a low-slung profile and five-spoke alloy wheels. The rear features connected LED taillights with a fish scale pattern.Interior
The Seal sedan interior cabin adheres to the brand’s ‘Ocean Aesthetics’ philosophy, providing a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It also offers a panoramic glass roof and driver-assistance systems, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring.Specifications
The Seal EV offers a choice between a rear-wheel-drive single electric motor or an all-wheel-drive dual electric motor setup. It will compete with the Kia EV6 and Hyundai IONIQ 5. It has two BYD Blade battery pack options: a smaller 61.2 kWh and a larger 82.5 kWh pack with a claimed range of up to 500 km/charge and 700 km/charge, respectively. The former gets up to 110 kW DC fast charging, and the large pack has a maximum capacity of 150 kW. The India-specific variant will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with a power output of 530 bhp. The sedan dimensions measure 4,800mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920mm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds.Price
