So BGaussmay is a new kid on the EV block ever since its unveiling in the Indian markets with B8 and A2 electric scooters in 2020. However, they are not slowing down any time soon. This time around the label is getting even more ambitious and promises to launch 2 New Electric Scooters.
True to BGauss’s trendsetting ingenious style the scooters will be out by the fourth quarter of this year. Encouraged by national success since last year’s debut, BGauss is now reaching for further milestones with grand expansion plans. The company is strengthening its bandwidth from a dealership network of 13 showrooms to 35 outlets in time for the Diwali season this year. Their goal is to spring over 100 showrooms before March 2022.
BGauss history
BGauss kickstarted its manufacturing at the Chakan plant near Pune, Maharashtra in 2020. The brand prides itself on being, “the new age electric scooter company”. Whereas the parent company, RR Global is one of India’s biggest and most notable business empires in the electrical industry. A USD 800 million corporation that was founded in 1986, RR Global had its first winding wires manufacturing unit at Vadodara, Gujarat although the company now headquarters in Mumbai.
The company’s products consist of wires, copper tubes, magnet wires, consumer electrical products, and more. BGauss with its flamboyant entry puts RR Global in the race for maximum leverage in the growing two-wheeler EV market in India.
Manufacturing and cross-border influence
If you look closely, most of the two-wheeler EV selling in India is a revamped product sourced out of the land of the Dragon, China. Still, their Indian production can be locally assembled with a few local components. On the other hand, BGauss too was said to be importing some of their components from China, manufacturing in India, and attuned to accommodate Indian conditions. The company seems to have taken a more balanced approach while still tagging itself as 100% “made in India”
Company announcement
While disclosing the news, BGauss’s Managing Director, Hemant Kabra, said,
“I am extremely overwhelmed with the response we have received for BGauss B8, our flagship electric scooter from the Indian consumers since its launch last year in October. This further gives us the confidence to add two new products to our existing portfolio of electric scooters to cater to the growing demands of the e-vehicle enthusiasts in the country by offering an all-encompassing solution that seamlessly blends technology with an affordable, zero-emission, eco-friendly, and superior riding experience.”
BGauss A2
The brand’s prevailing collection has two electric scooters with five variants. A2 is a slow-speed scooter with a top velocity of 25kmph. This one comes with 2 battery variants: lead-acid and lithium-ion. Happily enough these low-speed electric scooters will let you ride 75kms on a single charge. A2 has the additional advantage of 150 kg load-bearing capacity.
BGauss B8
On the other hand, B8 is Begauss’s high-speed contribution on India’s heavy rush-hour roads. Like its low-speed counterpart, B8 gives you a riding range of about 70 km in a single charge. It has additional features and horsepower than A2 as B8 is available in three variants – a Lead Acid model, the Lithium-Ion powered version, and a Lithium-Ion Technology. The BGauss B8 offers three riding modes – Low, Mid, and High, with a high speed of 50 km/hr. So you have the lead-acid variant claiming to allow a range of 78 km while the Lithium and LI Technology gives a range of 70 km each. B8 provides for a 150 kg load-bearing capacity.
Come to think of it, when you go electric with your vehicular choice, you might as well go “new age cosmic”. Enjoy that ride and the eyeballs you are sure to grab!
